on july 11, the "carbon inventory digital management system" developed by the carbon asset company affiliated to chn energy longyuan power successfully passed the scientific and technological achievement appraisal organized by the china electricity council. the project, assessed as reaching world-advanced level, is expected to strongly support chn energy’s refined management of carbon emission and improvement of carbon emission data quality.
the system was first adopted in thermal power plants, with an aim to address the challenges of multiple links involved in carbon emission accounting, difficult data traceability, and uncontrollable processes. by incorporating technologies such as image recognition, trajectory tracing, and machine learning, implementing a plant-specific approach, setting rational threshold indicators, and cross-verifying data, the company established high standards for list-based, process-oriented, and digitally managed inventory work, achieved real-time, controllable, and reliable inventory, and ensured the traceability and accuracy of carbon emission data, filling the gap in the field of digital carbon emission inventory.
currently, this system has been applied in 113 thermal power plants of chn energy for over two years, significantly improving the quality of carbon emission data. it has demonstrated substantial economic and social benefits with broad potential for widespread application in the fields of carbon emission, accounting, and verification.
